"I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself....my conscience is clear." (I Cor. 4:3-4a)Can you imagine what it would be like to truly hold this perspective? Our actions, our speech, even the inflection of our voice change depending upon our perception of the depth of judgment that others hold about us. Of course we carry various roles...my "fatherly" role is different than my "huband" role....is different than my "leader" role...is different than my "friend" role. This is not the issue. Is there a true authentic self that is the essence of each of these various roles?
